Rye Academies offer one journey through three schools, from ages 2-19, serving one of the most diverse, vibrant and enterprising communities in East Sussex.

Rye Community Primary School
A Gateway to Learning: A primary school incorporating the Pugwash Nursery, providing the early years education and care for children from 2 years, transitioning to Rye Community Primary School until the age of 11.

Rye College provides learners from 11 to 16 years with a unique experience; An environment where students can feel safe and have space to learn, where they are known as individuals and their talents are nurtured.

Rye Studio for the Creative Industries combines expert staff, outstanding facilities, beautiful location and industry connections supporting students to drive innovation. In Autumn 2013 we opened the new Rye Studio building with purpose-built studios for Art, Graphics, Textiles, Photography, Music and Business designed as inspiring spaces for creative minds and entrepreneurs.
In combination with the creative pathways available Rye Academies are developing a new and exciting curriculum offer for 2018-19, which will also include vocational options within sporting and hospitality industries.
Our staff make a tremendous effort to get to know each and every learner on an individual level, providing high quality teaching, outstanding pastoral care and support for all learners.
Rye Academies deliver a learner led curriculum, placing an emphasis and clear focus on English and Mathematics with creative pathways and new vocational pathways being developed for 2018-19. Skills learnt in these subjects provide solid foundations for all learners, along with our enrichment activities providing a wide range of opportunities for students to explore and develop skills and talent in other areas. A robust pastoral care model underpinning the journey of a student, focused on education and learning requirements, personal development, behaviour and welfare, supports this learner focused approach.
The Academies are at an exciting phase in their development, striving to provide first class education and pastoral care that will allow every young person to reach their full potential.
A transformational change programme, which includes a restructure, is currently underway. The aim: To ensure continued focus on quality improvements, educational excellence and maintaining a robust business model to ensure a sustainable future for our strong group of schools that will remain serving Rye and the wider community for next 100 years to come.
